What is it made from and how is it attached to the bumper?

Its aluminum, I got it from Agri-supply. ive got it bolted directly to the bumper. I dont have airbags, so i can tear that bumper to bits and not worry about it. Plus it acts as a great buffer between me and big green chevy 2500s that i collide with.

First outing offroad, and she did quite well, there was a wrangler that was stuck, and an f250 buried to the doors.
