saving navigation favorites with sync 3.6

I have downloaded sync 3.6 to my usb flash drive but have not installed it in my car yet. The instructions say to NOTE ANY SAVED NAVIGATION POINTS BEFORE INSTALLING. What does this mean? I have several saved navigation points and thought the new 3.6 version automatically saves them when installing. Before i go ahead and install the update in my car can anyone tell me how this process works to save my navigation points.

Not sure. I uploaded 3.6.2 and didn't lose any of my navigation favorites without having to do anything.

I've upgraded my Explorer and Escape, both magically saved the Navigation favorites during the install. I'm guessing Ford finally wrote a small subroutine that copied the saved favorites off to the USB thumb drive and then copied them back to the system after the upgrade.

No problem with my install either. Everything went very smooth
