Stupid Body Lift

I started my truck after school today and I heared an awful hissing sound. So I turned it off right away and it was still there. So I popped the hood and I found what's pictured below--a hole in my A/C hose. The reason there's a hole in it is because the belt tensioner was hitting it only when the engine was started, not while it was running. And because of this I didn't notice it earlier. In the body lift directions it says that it might hit the alternator so that's all I looked for. Oh well. The cost of the hose is $318(CAN) but my parts guy will sell me one for $20.

This has been covered in alot of the threads all the way back to 2001. The directions are for a Ranger which is why its gives no mention to this hose.

Sorry to hear about this. I have installed so many of these it is now second nature to pull that hose back.

Ouch.
Just remember to get some zip ties with the change you have left from getting the system recharged.
Then tie that bad boy back out of the way.
