20 is certainly doable, but the 35 MPG that aldive repeatedly reported - not realistic.

Current unibody SUVs with small turbo 4-cylinders, FWD, and tons of aerodynamic tricks, 20 year newer engine technology including direct injection, 8-speed transmissions, etc can barely get 35 MPG on the highway cycle.

I know Aldive documented what he did, but there was no 3rd party confirmation. I don't think using nitrogen in your tires, using some hydrogen splitting thing, and using that expensive oil, among other things is going to net 16 mpg more than what the vehicle could do in the absolute best conditions (remember this was before the EPA changed the rules for MPG calculation)
 






Agreed the rule change was “Show me” top end was dropping like dead weight about 7/8 years back
