So, My TPS is reading 5v and 4.9v across the 2 wires... which probably explains the high idle... Any suggestions as to how to get the voltage down?

The engine block wiring is 2000 V8, the engine bay wiring is 2000 SOHC, both are from Limited Explorers... if that helps..

try another sensor. You may have fond your issue. seems it is shorted .

it really cannot be placed wrong. if the throttle plate shaft is not in the sensor correctly it would break it.

there are 3 pins on the sensor. 2 of these should change resistance when the throttle is opened.

read resistance from the 5 v input line to the output line--see if it changes. do this with the sensor disconnected.

I'm a retard... the voltage is 0.88/0.89... so, I'm going to take the old TPS and see if that makes any difference...
