Transmission speed sensors.

Ouch!!, I forgot to tell you something, when I was going to install that used 98 trans for the 1st time I tough that change the fluid filter was the right thing to do so I bought a new one, I asked for a 98 ford explorer fluid transmission filter, but this one come with an integrated 1 1/2" pipe under the filter instead of the usual plain hole (the pan wouldn't closed up), so I chopped that pipe out then filters looked just the same. Could that be the problem?

that may be the problem, if you have the wrong filter it wont pick up fluid the way it should. I have had transmissions do what you described because of a wrong or improperly installed filter

can you just find a 98 center piece . 98 Tss sensor?
