what size tire fits

i have 17 by 8 kmc hellions and i was wondering how wide of a tire i could fit without getting into any kind of rubbing. I would like the widest tire possible with either the stock overall diameter or a little lower overall diameter. i'm not sure of my backspacing, sorry i know that would be helpful.

well, i hate to break it to you, but without an offset or backspacing, no one can really give an exact answer. for example, i just ordered 17x8 wheels with 0 offset, and im gonna run 285 60 r17 and i wont get any rub, but there are people who run 17x9 cobra r's and cant run anything bigger than a 255 55 r17 without getting rubbing. try to find out the offset or backspacing.
