For any XM subscribers who have not heard the news:
XM going 100% commercial free on music channels
Guess they felt they needed to compete with Sirius in that respect, since Sirius has announced deals with many previously XM-only product makers such as Delphi and Alpine. Also, Sirius is going to start streaming video, surround sound, and streaming data traffic/stocks)... Finally got a boombox made as well.
XM is going to lose $1,000,000/month on this deal... They must be banking on being able to make up the advertising difference by increasing advertising on their non-music stations.
