    Please forgive the stupid question here: If I remove the main power feed to the starter from the relay, reconnect (carefully) the battery cables (supplying power TO the starter relay), connect my volt meter to the threaded stud to the starter, cycle the ignition switch, I should see the power to...

    Just as an additional note: The ignition switch on the 1993.5 Mazda B2300 is located on TOP of the column! Still working out how to get to it. Looks like I will have to release the column bolts and let the column rest on the drivers seat.
