just a thought!, have you been driving on a dry pavement with 4x4 hi/low and not auto mode selected as this could give you wind up pressure,sort of the symptons your describing and the bang could be the release of pressure on the drive shafts.its all i can think it could be ,hows transmission...

hello H, i just fitted mine and is just as you described in your second fit, the tensioner is right back as far as possible but i left it on as my other was shot to bits no problems as yet hopefully as belt stretches itll slacken a little .it runs up the pulley and on the tensioner face it hugs...

if i remember rightly the premier tyres are not remoulds but dont quote me on that .the remoulded tyres tend to be a pain to balance so youll end up with a few weights on the rims!

ive just changed mine also last week but havent had no trouble , im unsure what you mean by resetting tensioner as all i did was insert ratchet into square hole in tesioner and pull it back as far as possible to slip belt onto the pulley on the top in the middle if you know what i mean as this...

they look nice rich, would imagine theyd be very noisey though .i got insa traction tracks which are siped and a hell of a lot quieter than the special tracks i used to run although over a inch thinner footprint but in same size ,have you tried paddocks spares by anychance? hope you find some soon

i cant see the point of doing it ! i mean you can only open the doors when stood next to the ex,unless your going to have extra long arms to cover the range grafted on ,not forgeting extra long legs to step into it lol!:D

i dont know which! if the pump is working youll hear it on full lock its a loud shhhh noise .im also fairly sure a rack would creak or groan badly if worn .may be change the fluid and see if there is a difference if you feel its still driveable safely in the meantime .if not have it checked out...

glad to hear its working!,ive been using mine on and off for a while now with no issues,you can speed up ,coast,slowdown and reset with no worries its never gave me any cause for concern :thumbsup:

mines a 99 and is a bit hit and miss but does work i usually have to push 2 buttons to get it working ,top left for sure and bottom right if i remember rightly! i havent used it for a while due to motoway drivers doing different speeds in all lanes its hard to use it unless the roads are clear

so to cap it all off! once youve had revised tensioners, removed the firestone tyres (exploding tyres apparently ive read on here) and changed the wiring harness which causes car to ignite , you should have a really nice explorer that will last until the next recall should there be any:)
