SportTrac / Explorer Sport differences

Ok... it looks like there are more aftermarket parts for st's than there are for explorer sports (at least when it comes to the engine...)

Are their engines that much different from each other?? can you buy parts for either one interchangeably (if that is a word?)

are they that much different from any other explorer with similar specs for that matter??? (4.0L sohc, etc.)

I would call them 1st cousins. In 2001 the Sport and Sport Trac got the same front end, and the same brakes. I don't have any knowledge of them other than the brake research that I did. I installed those later 12" rotors onto my 99 Explorer. Good luck,
