Vacuum Pump Operation

Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a Vacuum Pump to evacuate my A/C System after changing a line and Receiver/Dryer. This is a new pump and it brought the system down in 5 minutes. I left it running for 30 minutes but had to stop as the pump was very hot. Too hot to touch at 30 minutes. I had intended to leave in on for an hour, but didn't dare to let it run any longer.
This is my first experience with a vacuum pump, but I think there is a problem with it.
How hot does the vacuum pump usually get when under full vacuum?
I doubt it shoud be too hot to touch and it took over 30 minutes to cool off to where I could touch it.
I appreciate your input on this.
BTW, it does have the right amount of oil in the pump. It came with oil and it was serviced before it was run.

2.5 CFM Vacuum Pump
Pittsburgh Automotive - item#98076
This I purchased from Harbor Freight.

I don't think it should get this hot.
