I'd say the axle is 43.75" from center BJ to BJ. From passenger's center BJ to pinion is right about 20.5".

Looks to be in good shape except for the undercutting on the passenger side C.

Undercutting? Oh that axle is trash.. send it to me, I'll dispose of it.

Ive never owned one so quick question, thats an HP 44?

It's an HP 11. It takes four of these axles to make a 44. But this one was an 1/8th the cost so it was obviously a steal!!

For once in your life, can you ever be serious?

:p:

undercutting?? Please explain. Iz hands off!! lol It's for the Sammi.
I am sooooooooo tired of looking out at a sea of dead vehicles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ranger engine out new one about to go in.
Sammi engine out waiting for?????? oh yeah engine(here) trans (Washington being built) front axle(currently at Section525's house) Damn ya'd think a tornado hit or something!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Anyone interested in a '80 F-250 4x4????? needs engine.

Undercutting is when the arc eats into the base metal w/o refilling. This is common for stick welders (SMAW) as they run higher amps than other welding processes (due to a larger electrode, usually .125" diameter as opposed to GMAW's .03x"). 99% of the time its not a big deal (especially for something so thick as an axle) and it is an indication that there was good penetration.

Hey quick question ZUKMAN, is this for a rear-steer setup? Cauz that'd be amazing!!!

Lets see, with a stock Suzuki having a turning radius of about 2 feet, this would bring it down to about 3 inches?

roflol NO with a wheelbase of 80" I already meet myself coming and going!
This axle is because I am putting a 4.0 with a C-4 Trans in and the stock axle would sit down and cry.:burnout:

Ive never owned one so quick question, thats an HP 44?

I believe its a low pinion thats sitting upside down. Notice how the BJ adjuster on the inner C is on the bottom which would actually be the top if it were sitting correctly.

Or were you just joking around????

No I wasnt joking around :D -- I see the BJ adjusters though, good catch. I just thought that that many "ribs" on the housing meant Ford, which automatically set off the "High Pinion" light in my head.

Please correct me if I am wrong but is the axle sitting in the correct position for a FRONT axle but with the yoke facing forward instead of to the t-case?

Yeah, its upside down. The top should be the bottom and visa versa.

I'm interested to see your driveshaft angle cauz the pinion's centerline is slightly beside that fill plug (on the cover) so its pretty much centered (that's why I asked if it was for a rear-steer).

Like IZ said. its upside down. Which means its a for a passenger side drop. What kind of transfer case are you using with the C4? Also, do you have any more info on the C4 build? I've been looking into doing this with my 95, but I want to keep my stubler. I see that advance adapters sells a C4 to BW1350 adapter with a new tail shaft. But its pricey...

the axle drop is offset 3" to the passenger side, present t-case is a divorced 4.16 sammi case, which may become twin stick. C-4 gets a different tailshaft and housing done by "Wild West Offroad", because they are the ones that make the motor mounts for the 4.0 converision to the Sammi.

Zukman, will your stock axle be up for grabs? It may work well under my Sidekick

Yes it will be up for sale as soon as the actual work begins comes with new full rebuild kit, lockrites, over the top steering, set for yj spring over

english translation

as soon as the Ranger drives itself out of the garage(currently undergoing transplant surgery).

How cheap?

Truck does not come cheap! It has brand new coolers, new interior, and a shell with a rear door/full opening backend. Brand new tires. etc.
