Hi all
new to this site. Was wondering if you could help me with a problem. I have a 2001 ford Explorer and the rear window wouldnt gow up or down. I went into the window mechinism and found a broken plastic connector. How do i fix this problem?

Can you be more specific about this "plastic connector", a photo maybe. An electrical connector?? Sounds like you've found the problem. Now to repair it and then perform the initialization process.
 






its a white plastic connector about an inch long , looks like the small cables would be placed in it to slide the window up and down

I am having issues with my rear window as well but I havent had the courage to tear it up, Its very selective when it wants to work. Some days it works some days it wont, tried the initialization process but it was on the day it decided it wasnt going to work.
 






Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Remove/reinsert the 2 fuses to make sure they are getting a good connection. There's one in the under dash fuse panel and one under the hood. About the only other connectors are at the dash switch and at the motor. The early production 2001 models (Job 1) had a connector outside the motor sealing "bubble" and one at the motor. Remember the two hot wires go to the motor and the switch only chooses the ground path for the function you want.
