Seems like this may be a dumb question, but how should I bolt my sub box down in the back?

I don't have a problem installing and hooking it up I just don't know how to bolt it down like where to drill through and what not.

Any suggestions?

When I install it I also plan to a write up with extensive pictures on where I hid the wires and where I bolt it down.

Only thing I can think of is attach an L bracket then bolt to subs and drill a hole in the floor and bolt to that. Don't know if that would be a good idea or not so I was wondering how you guys did yours.

BTW its 2 MTX 12" terminator subs with 600W jackhammer amp, I loved it when I had it in my Civic so I thought I'd buy it again since its only 220 and I already have the wires for subs in my X.

Heres a pic of the subs in box if that helps with my bracket idea.

Brackets would work, but I would prefer something hidden. Brackets would be to easy for a thief to unscrew and boom your stuffs gone.

I planned (When I had a smaller box) on having the box where I wanted it, take the subs out, and put 2 nice large bolts through the bottom, through the body.

It sounds kinda crazy, but hey, gotta do whatcha gotta do. I was gonna use some 3/4" thick bolts, and loctite the nuts on there. (Make sure you use some large washers so you dont damage your box.)

Not worried about anyone stealing it around here, the crime rate is so ridiculously low that I can leave my windows down with valuables all in my car and come back and they are all there. Plus plan to get some 5 percent tint so they cant even see it :p

So the brackets would work just drill on through and I dont have to really worry about hitting anything?

As long as your screws/bolts are less than like 2" than yea nothing to worry about.

I would still reccomend looking under there just to be safe.

I did exactly this in my SportTrac. I bolted the box to the back wall (one of the box-channel upright braces). Secure as hell.

If you want to use the l-brackets, drip some solder into the heads of the screws that you mount it with. This way, no tools can get on them. Removing the solder is easy when you need to do it. How many thieves carry a soldering iron? Nothing can stop a pry bar, but I figure they have to destroy my stuff to get it out. If I can't have what I paid for, neither will anyone else.

I love the soldering Idea I have some solder left over from the guitar amp I built so that will be perfect, Thanks guys. I might be gettin the subs today so I'll do a write up including the soldering idea.
