Key Fob

Success, the key turns the car over and will lock it with the fob buttons, for the $2 tip at Kramer and free key cutting it was totally worth the time and investment, lets hope it lat for the life of the car... well at a total of less than $65 cheaper then when we had ford make us some spares at $80

hey if it works, it works right?

I got the fusion key, it should be coming in the mail today.

yes, all clears and everything is ok, to get it to work yo u will need to :

program the fob part (lock, unlock, hatch, alarm) by:
1) turn ignition from OFF to ON 8 times finishing on ON (within 10 seconds)
2) to tell you this worked the car will cycle by unlocking and locking
3) press one of the buttons on an origional fob
4) again the car will cycle
5) press a button on the new fob
6) (i think) it will again cycle
7) turn car to OFF and pull keys out of ignition
8) (with keys in hand) exit car and try the new fob

then cut the key

and then program the key (two origionals needed) by:
1) placing one of the origional keys in the ignition and turn to ON
2) wait for security light to stop being solid
3) pull out key
4) place second origional key in the ignition and turn to ON
5) wait for security light to stop being solid
6) pull out key
7) place new key in ignition and turn to ON
8) wait for security light to stop being solid
9) pull out key
10) put new key in and try to start your X

next step: tell us all it works, and if it doesn't then come back to the forums

Got the key today, programmed remote

Hopefully I have time to get the key cut tomorrow.

Ok slight problem, now my factory remotes arent working, but the keys still work. Any advice?

i read somewhere that there is a max of four fobs to a car but i may be wrong and if that is true then there must be a way of removing unwanted fobs

That's correct thast you can only have 4 fobs but the new one I got would have only been my 3rd. So idk why the original 2 stopped working.

maybe simotanious (i know i cant spell) dead batteries

Simultaneous - for future reference

I'm gonna check out the batteries tomorrow bc I have night class tonight.

I'm hoping that's it bc this is rather annoying.

Programming Remote Key Fobs

When you program a new remote key fob, you have to re-program the original fobs at the same time. Following the steps in the manual, enter the programming mode. Once in programming mode, push a button on each remote, one at a time. For each remote, the locks will cycle to let you know it has successfully programmed. After you finish, exit programming mode.

I have programmed several extra factory remote key fobs for my Ford Focus and Mercury Mountaineer. For both, when you program one remote, you have to program them all at the same time, even if they previously worked for the vehicle.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
