I have the single button remote fob that's separate from the key and it's on its last legs. I've had to bodge it with electrical tape.

I had a search on here and apparently the Transit ones work for the '98+ two-button fobs but I have a '97. Do I have to find an Explorer one or can I get one designed for another car on Ebay?

This is what mine looks like. The closest I found on Ebay is a '92 Probe fob. It has all the same text on the back of the fob.

Cheers!

Hi,

The same fobs were used on the early Mondeos as well as early Probes as you mention. The hard bit is getting them coded to your immobiliser. I tried for ages but couldn't do it. I have now replaced it all with an aftermarket system.

Ford will be able to program it of course at a price!

Cheers for the reply. I managed to get a Probe one from Ebay so when (if) it arrives I'll have a go at coding it myself. I think Ford charge an hour's labour to do it if I can't.
