use this style battery terminal and put lug ends on each wire and youll be good to go.

I think these are referred to as "wingnut terminals" or "marine terminals" they have em at walmart for cheap cheap.

Your you could go this route COPPER!

You mean like this? This is a marine terminal with one of those ground lugs from a household circuit breaker box. I used a 2 wire one for the main power wires and a single one for the power wire for the amplifiers.

theres no point in grounding the block to frame since all your grounds go to the negative batt terminal anyway.

ground the body, motor, and frame right to the negative terminal with their own large gauge ground wire.

This is an older install guide, but the tech says to wire the positive cable through your fuse box or an external fuse. I hope the stock fuse in my '02 Explorer can handle 800W. I have a 100A fuse from battery to amps.

In addition, I am not sure that mounting battery (-) to frame and chassis are two different things. The frame IS the chassis. The 3rd connection of the Big 3 should be engine block (or alternator) to ground. The alternator is the absolute ground, not the battery (-). In an electrical system, the generator should be the absolute ground since this is where the power for the system is produced. In this case, the alternator is the generator. Check out these pics and post. Let me know if anyone disagrees or has suggestions.

I am installing 0AWG for the Big 3, and running 0AWG to a power distribution block from which I will run 4AWG to the Amps and Capactior. There will be a power distribution block accepting 4AWG wire to reconsolidate the grounds and 0AWG for the final ground to chassis.

As you can see in the pictures, these block terminals are very heavy duty aluminum, and utilize a screw mechanism to allow the wire a better connection than a crimp can provide. I prefer these 100% over the crimp type, and I have had no problem whatsoever with them at all. If I recall, at Home Depot, they cost around $5 for a two pack of the double screw type terminals, and about $3 for a single pack of the single screw type terminals, and you can find them in the electrical section. Hope this helps, man.

the engine ground is unreachable, better yet not even visible without taking off all the accessories on the right side of the front of the engine (when in front of vehicle with hood open) somebody might have pics but I tried for an hour to even just see it and failed. heres some pics of my big 3

hey I'm new to the forum ...I don't see your pics you posted I was wondering if you still had them. I'm trying to do something similar and just looking for pics for running this clean and properly..and pics or input would be greatly appreciated...thanks

First, Welcome to the forum.

The picture you are looking for were from a 2011 post. Some of those members may not be active anymore.

Since the forum changed formats about a year ago, a lot of old pictures didn't make the transition.

You might have to do some more searching in the audio sub section or start a new thread.
