Curtis,
Hey sounds like your system is plenty loud! Anyway how hard was it to install your amp? I am planning on completely redoing my factory system with an Alpine HU, with a stealthbox. I am kind of nervous about wiring the amp myself so I was thinking about taking to someone.

Got any pics of the new setup you have? Did you end up buying a pre-fab box or make your own?
Also, when is this NC explorer trip going to happen. While you guys have been talking about wheeling, I went to Uwharrie the past two weekends! It was awesome.

Well I gtg finish installing my second set of lights on my safari bar.
Later,
Rob

it was actually amazingly easy, we didnt have to drill through the fire wall at all. the only thing is i had someone helpin me that new how to do it, and had already done a couple. ill post a link to the pics hold on.

Nice, yeah I been thinking about it and I used to work at a Ford Dealership. Those guys could probably help me!

Hey, I don't know if your interested or not, but as far as adding more lights to a safari bar, ITS POSSIBLE! I just finished adding 2 Piaa 520's. So now I have my a set of hella 500's and piaas on the bar. It looks awesome and puts out SOO much light.

ok i dont have a link ill post this image though, its the best one i have. the weird thing about it is if you look at the ground, it turns purple when light hits it.

Are you thinking or relocating the amp underneath the seats? Is that like the final setup or ject thrown in there so you can hear what it sounds like?

That will be sick! Are you going to try to make you own box?

i dont think so anymore, its already deafining, i cant even get my HU volume up to half way. i can turn the sub control in the back and the in the HU all the way doen. and its still VERY LOUD. i mean when you have a sub thats 700 watts rms, and an amp that puches 606 watts rms 74% of the time. you get the picture. im already pissin off my neighbors. even if all 3 guys in my neighborhood have subs, i can blow them all away with no prob.

Tarheal,

If you put your amp where bigtig did I want details,
I have a 98 sport and don't have the nice panel like he does. I have that stupid cargo pocket. I doubt those pocket sizes are the same as his panel so I'm not sure about getting a speaker cover from another X. If you could buy just the framing and cover for those kick panel enclosers that would sweet. I've only seen them w/ the speaker.

well ill let you know cause im gonna tear it apart AGAIN tommorow. i get home @ 12 cause of exams (UHHH!) but i have to put the console back together as well cause i ran the rca cable throught it cause i didnt have one long enough, so now i got a longer one and have to fix it.

to answer your original question about sound deadening, check out this site, its cheaper than dynamat and i guess just as good

I used 80 sq fteet.

That covered the doors, the whole cargo area, and the side panels. I used Dynamat Xtreme, so it got a bit pricey.

ya I'd be intrested in doing that as well. Let us know how it goes. Make sure you take some pics when installing :D

well ill take some pics tom. it got dark on me, i have to study for exams so i stopped. but i only have the plastic around the back undone. and the rear seat belt off, but can someone tell me how to take off the little cover for the front seat belt. anyone know what im yabberin about? :hammer:

Front Seat Belt Cover

It just snaps right off. I took my panels off this weekend. Took pics of my whole project. When I finish my website I’ll let you guys see it. Just finish the amp rack tonight and letting the glue and the paint dry. Also if you have cargo instead of the factory sub there is room for an amp it’s the same room. The cargo pocket just snaps out. I was thinking of putting my crossover there but instead put it with the amps. I hope this helps anyone.

NICE

Soundz tight.. POST UP WHen u are done uploading the stuff... Good Work... can u tell a difference.. not with just rattling but deadening of Road noise and stuff?

Back Hatch Rattles

I can tell the difference in road noise. You can bearly hear it. My X is a 92' and back then sound deadening was not a major issue in building the Explores. My dad buys and sells cars and heavy equipment so he has some recked cars with old interior out of them so I spray rubberized undercaoting and then used the factory sound deadening material and it makes a difference. I packed it into every nook and crany I could find. Next weekend I am taking the hatch cover off and using extreme dynomat on that because those 12s rattle it bad but the rest of the body does not rattle. Hope this helps. Post pics soon because I took 40 or so pics. C-YA
