Texas Armadillo's "Copper Top"

This morning Copper Top received a little boo-boo. Becky's truck is in the body shop for hail damage. While this is happening she has been driving Copper, and I got to drive a Hyandia. Well, this morning she ran it into a Ford Flex. I will now get to drive a Ford Focus for another two weeks. Anyways, here are the pictures.

Well it happened again. Copper Top was in a accident. While I was heading down to Austin for Thanksgiving, some jack wagon decided to merge into my lane and hit me. Then, to add insult to injury, the ******* drove off. Neither, Becky or myself was hurt luckily. Also, the truck was hit just right so that we were able to continue our journey. I thank God we were hit the way we were. It could have been a lot worse then it actually was. Anyways, you can view the damage below.

'Tis the season for arsehole drivers. Really glad you guys are OK and Copper kept you safe mate.

What a jackass for driving away. I would have kept on his ass long enough to get a plate number at the very least. Glad it didn't end with anyone getting hurt though.

Man that sucks. Glad you are all right though! I have already had some close calls in Red Bull from inattentive drivers.

Well, I got lucky there too. The car behind us saw what went down and trailed the dude that hit me. He was able to get his license plate number and everything. Texas Highway Patrol put out a notice on those plates, so it is only a matter of time.

Glad you and the wife are alright...and nice to see that there was someone gracious enough to grab the plate number for you.

I'm sure Mods are not really in the budget considering all of your recent repairs...but since you said you wanted a bull bar...why not get one from these guys, (http://www.truckwinchmount.com/photos/slides/83XGWP-STANDARD-W.3RD.html) sounds like you could use something tougher than your average bull bar.

Boy, aint that the truth. I actully got Copper back today. I'll post pictures and the final invoice later this weekend.

While, that does look fun, and would give me a recovery spot. I think I'll stick to the Westin black bull bar. I am hoping the birthday bunny leaves it in my garage.

So today I preformed my first oil change on Copper. It kind of worked out that when I had to bring Copper in the Stealership for work I would just get an oil change. It wasn't that bad. The oil bolt is still 13mm. The filter can be a pain to get out. The sway bar is in the way of an easy oil filter extraction. I have some pictures of the first time Copper was on jack stands.

This is a picture of a Channel Lock Oil wrench. It totally saved my rear. Like I said I have not been doing my own oil changes. This means that when I crawled under my Explorer there was a Motorcraft oil filter on it. This is normally not a problem except my oil filter socket does not fit this filter. Luckly, I bought this wrench sometime back and it worked perfectly.

This is a picture a found bumping around the internet. I forgot where I got it from, but I ma using it as inspiration for my Copper.

You always remember your first oil change on a new car. Glad it went well for you.

Looking at the pictures again; it would be nice if I could get that much lift on this truck.
