So today I went to change my headlight bulbs and when I removed the driver side bulb a piece of the housing broke off, the back part where the bulb goes into. I did save the piece that was broken so I have all the pieces but not sure on how to repair this. Glue was my first thought but I'm not sure if this would hold up with the heat and the pressure. So does anybody have any suggestions on how to repair the light, I know some type of glue but not really sure on what would be the best thin for the job. Luckily i did have another set of lights to replace it with in the mean time, but this is my stock light so I would really like to salvage it if possible. I would really appreciate your guys help, thanks in advance.

i'd say you're gonna need a new headlight (check rockauto). even if you could glue the piece back on, it will be weak and probably not seal out moister. if your set on trying a repair it , scrap off any chrome plating and try JB Weld. i've managed to fix some amazing things with this stuff. it's not really sticky like glue, but once it sets it's as hard as steel and will be stonger than the rest of the plastic.

not worth the hassle. go to your local junk yard and get a new to you headlight.

brand new one from rockauto (includes bulbs and socket) $25.79. why bother with junk yard stuff.

did not know they were that cheap from rock auto

Thanks guys for your suggestion, i have a replacement for it I just wanted to know if it was possible or even worth fixing but doesnt really seem like it will be. Probably just hold onto it for now and if I ever have to buy some jb weld for anything else I'll slap on there to see if it works but that'll be later.

If you want to try something, try Plastic Welder. You might have to find out if it will work on the headlight material.

I used it on some headlight covers, where some tabs that hold them on, broke off. They never broke in the same spot, although I did put it on rather thick. It worked great on anything else I have used it on.
