I got some huge lights from Harbor Freight and I need to mount them somehow...can people post pics and a general overview of the how-to that you have for the bar, materials etc. I have no idea how to go about this little project....

You wanna post up a pic of the light bar and the front of your truck? It might help get ideas

i dont have one but im pretty sure you just drill the holes in the metal of your roof for the bolts and wire to go through, mount, and silicon/calk around the holes to make it waterproof. you may be able to drille less holes if you mount it on the roof rack and only drill one hole for the wires.

i used a 48" long piece of black pipe and U bolts drilled into the roof rails its not bad for a $15 light bar.

don't drill any holes in the roof,, use the search at the top of the page on the header, it will show you threads on how to make a light bar and run wiring so you don't drill holes

What Corkey said. Check out the lighting section and you'll see hundreds of different light bar setups.

Thanks guys. I just didnt know if there was any that were unique and easy to build at the same time :P

yea you can do the ghetto way where you rub the wiring through the door jams and seals i suppose, it works just as good but i think of my way as a tad bit more neat and permanent. i was thinking of the more common way when i wrote that btu he wanted to hear all teh options.

I just don't want to drill into anymore of my truck :( I think there is a bracket out there somewhere, but I have no idea how to make it.... I really want to get these mounted this week...

go to the bottom of this thread, , under it you will find similar threads,, you may get some ideas there,,

uggh. im such a retard.

not really,, most people never scroll down that far,,

as soon as they get to the reply box, they usually stop , and go back up,,

I will just have to make some sort of brackets. Went to a fab shop and they wanted alot of money to do some basic stuff. oh well.

my first roof light bar was a factory bar with 2 lights bolted to it,

took about 1/2 hour to drill the holes and mount the lights, and another 1/2 hour to hook up the wiring,

in my yard ,,
