changed the plugs, found these. these were the worst of the 8. now she purrs like a kitten and actually has some power in it. hoping the mpg goes up a couple also. one plug had a little piece missing from the electrode, god knows where it is or how long its been broke. but it runs good now, and thats what matters.

over all, job was a 3/10. i used copious amounts of pb blaster and the plugs came free rather easily. i chose not to replace the wires. ill order some motorcraft ones from RA soon. i took out ap764's and replaced them with ap104's. idle is nice and smooth now, and im sure its just the placebo effect, but it feels like its got a little more hp, according to the butt dyno.

yuk! does it burn oil or does coolant disappear? those plugs seem to be fouled with something.

from what i read in the book, its ash deposits. it uses a little oil, 1-1.5 quarts between changes ( 5k mile change intervals ). i have not noticed any coolant loss. i bought the truck used about a year ago. in the past month it has started to skip and miss worse and worse. 20$ for 8 plugs, 6 pack of miller lites, tis all good now!
