Plastidip Cladding?

DSC07239.jpg

Jeesh, its like you guys have never seen black before... looks the same as krylon. my front bumper is still kryloned in this pic so you can see a slight difference

I'd love to see something get the treatment. Many have claimed to have plans; some have said they have done it; none have shown pictures.

The two above are spray paint.

I did it a year ago and have posted about a dozen pics since....

EDIT:

After a year of use I have 2 problem areas with plastidip:

1. my girlfriend is short and when she gets in the truck her legs rub the cladding, one day she was wear cleats and took a little chunk off, wiped it clean, and hit it with a can I keep in my truck and that spot is 4 months strong now.

2. Went to a carwash and the guy got pretty close with a pressure washer and it knocked a nickle sized area off. Same process and that is 1 month strong.

I've noticed it holds in dirt a little more than Krylon, because its rubber. Its also not as glossy. I spray tire shine on mine after a wash and it gives it a nice sheen for however long tire shine will last for... like 3 days? It responds well to impact, scratches, and hits. Rear bumper scrapped a rock and it tore off some of the under side. Like with the 2 instances above I just cleaned and hit it with a spare can I keep in my tool box.

It is holding up just as well as when all my cladding was Kryloned, only difference so far is it looks a little nicer than the krylon IMO. When I used the krylon it kinda intensified the little dings and scratches in the cladding. This stuff goes on so thick that it covers it all up and makes it look even.

If you spray the side cladding all the way around the piece (not just the visible area) it holds up a lot better. Its a rubber coating and will peel at edges, so if you eliminate edges it won't peel.
