green plug under dash?

I kept trying to plug the obd reader into a green plug under my dash before realizing it was the wrong one... now I'm extremely curious what the green plug is for. I searched (google and forums) but nothing came up that told me what it was for.

Not really sure, and I'm sure someone that actually knows will chime in, but my first thought is if you have the tow package it might be for a brake controller.

Ya, I finally found a couple threads on here and other sites about it... some say the green plug is the factory brake control and others say the factory brake control is a smaller gray plug up under/behind the glovebox (which I also found). Now if I find the green plug is the brake plug... I'm really curious what the gray plug is for! And unfortunately any time i've asked a ford dealership about any kind of technical question about my car... they generally know less than I do :-(

Normally these wires are plugged into dummy plastic. Could you tell us where the green wire was connected with respect to the wheel.

I assume you are talking about the steering wheel... it is behind the trim just to the right of the obd plug I would say about halfway between the steering column and the center console

Alright. As i'm over 30 miles from my car. When I get home tonight i'll look around and see if my car has something plugged into it.

So I jumped under the dash and I'm unsure where either green plug go. I see there is one tied into the loom that is carrying obd port wire and there is a smaller one which i can barely see. Maybe here soon Rondo will chip in here as I believe he has the wiring diagrams.

Mine is plugged in and I don't have my brake controller wires hooked up. Also I don't see a gray plug on mine. Checking my manual now.

I can't find anything pertaining to that plug, nor can I trace mine. One side goes up the firewall over the brake pedal, the other side up the dash behind the steering column.
