I've just completed my first (small) project on my Explorer. I bought a Cobra iRadar system. It's a great radar detector that connects to a smartphone with Bluetooth to warn of known speed traps and other reported road hazards. Picked it up on eBay for $30! I also bought the hard wire kit for it and installed it in my Explorer. I mounted the unit behind the rear view mirror and it is hidden fairly well behind it. I ran the wire through the headliner and a-pillar and then under then center console and spliced into the cigarette lighter wiring. The only wire that is visible is about 6" long where the unit itself is mounted. I also put in a toggle switch to turn it on and off. Let me know what you think!
