how did you guys get explorer headlights to fit in the mounty? do they just bolt on/ direct fit? Do the turn signals flash in both the parking light and the turn signal like regular explorers or is the wiring different ?

95-97 Mounty's used the same lights as Explorers and the same grill shape. They changed it in 98.

Oh.. :( does the 95-97 Merc fascia fit on a 2000?

Yeah, but you'll need the whole grill, lights, and the header panel/what the grill clips onto. People have done an Explorer to Mounty conversion, so you can go backwards.

Well for me it'd be putting a 95-97 mounty front clip on a 2000 Mounty.. looking at the picture of the truck i quoted and the picture of my truck i put in the "did my truck have a grille guard" thread i notice the piece underneath the actual header panel that looks different. Not sure if that's just another plastic piece that could swap or not, you know what I'm talking about? Or am i being too vague.

Im out of town and my truck is home so i can't exactly go look myself right now...

Just an FYI, there was no 95 or 96 Mountaineer. 97 was first year.

Really? Thought they came out in 95 with the Explorers.

Then again.. I wouldn't know, the Mounties never came to Canada (Kind of Ironic.. Canadian Mounties..)

I have NEVER seen a Mountaineer in person. :(

Here's my relic... '95 xlt, slightly modded

That's Bridge Creek Campground on Icicle Creek up out of Levenworth. Pictures were taken last weekend. I haven't checked out the NWEC forum, but will definitely do that.

Wow there are some good looking explorers/mountaineers on here. Very sharp rides.

The 97's. Just got the white 97 5.0 and am fixing all the little wrong things with it and getting ready to fix the fender and bumper as well.

Sooooo much snow this winter. It's July 5th and the trails are still blocked with 3 foot deep snow drifts.
