Anyone know what years/model seats would fit a 2000 Explorer sport?

My drivers seat is pretty much collapsed at this point, and was hoping to replace it. Basically I am leaning to the left all the time when driving it around. Open to any other suggestions as well, such as an upholstery place, but I wasn't sure that would be cost effective.

Thanks, going to take a look around. I may take the seat out as well and determine what's actually collapsed in there.

I took the seat bottoms from our 99 Sport to an upholstery shop & they added padding to fix the outer bolsters that were collapsed. IIRC they charged me $150.00 to do both seat bottoms.

Managed to take the seat off - looks like not only has the cushion collapsed but the springs are pretty broken. Unfortunately, I don't think an upholstery place will be able to fix the bottom for me.

I've been looking around, and the majority of seats I am finding are in pretty rough shape. I could do a passenger side swap, but I'm not sure I'd successfully be able to move the seat recline handle to the other side.

Has anyone put in completely different/aftermarket seats in before? Honestly it might be nice to have a newer style seat, and It appears I could bolt a new seat onto the rails and scavenge the electric up/down and forward/backwards control from this one. The new seat would need to have it's own attached recline control however.

Any 2nd Gen Explorer seats will work. An auto upholstery shop should have the springs, wires, and foam, but you can fix it yourself if you get the supplies. It really isn't all that difficult. Just takes time and patience. No special tools or skills needed.

Yeah, any auto upholstery shop will have what you need to fix you're old seat bottom, or can fix it for you. The pre-formed foam is available on eBay or from places that specialize in auto seats (like TheSeatShop.com), but either way the foam is gonna run you around $100. If you can get the upholstery shop to do the repairs for $150 that's very fair.
