Hey all;) Does anybody know of any free mods I can do to my OHV 95 X, it's the Eddie Bauer model. If not free but fairly cheap? I already did the throttle cable mod, and I cleaned the coil ground and the IAC

I also replaced most of the bulbs with LEDs only on the interior, also the license plate lights, and behind the gauge cluster. And lastly I removed the roof rack, but I couldn't remove the rails because the threads stripped:banghead:

Thanks in Advance!!

Sounds like you have the basics covered. What are you looking to do, exactly? Modding for mods sake is fun and all, but, you aught to have a goal in mind before you start sinking money (or time) into a project.

Nice truck, by the way! (I'm assuming it's the one in your profile pic).

There's a big thread on cheap and free mods in the Gen 1 section, but you'll have to search for it, it's from back when that was the only engine available.

Very nice truck, looks like a sister to mine.I would change the idler pulley. If it is original they are known to grenade at the worst time. It is very easy and cheap to do.

Thanks for responding everyone!
I'll check out those threads, I'm mainly looking for mods or DIY to clean something that may be making th engine run not as well. And also something that may increase MPG's and make the vehicle look cooler, I haven't done the T bar crank yet because I don't want it sagging. And yes here's a better picture of my explorer

I did this earlier today, I was ruslin' round in the snow in a parking lot, I'll have a video on my registry later tonight.

Also, I was thinking about taking off the skirts and flares, would that be easy/and or should I do it? I don't think it would uncover much rust, my vehicle has none, I live in northwest oregon
Thanks in advance!

Very nice, GingeRed11. I can't speak to engine mods, as i'm rolling with a V8, but, as far as looks go, i think you've got a pretty solid rig.

As a note, removing the skirts and flares will reveal mounting holes.

Here's a recent snow pic of mine:

Looks great for a 95, clean 2nd gens are hard enough, but you've got something amazing to an extent there. As for the torsion twist, be mindful of anything over 2" if you're 4WD, also you'll want the custom camber bolts and an alignment done, it's a fine time if you're doing anything like that to get your front end work completed. As for sagging, click that link in my signature, it's worth seeing what I'm living around.

Hmm I'll have to think about it, would I rather have holes in my car or a skirts and flares that sticks out a lot from the car lol

I have never heard about that, and when I click on link and saw what I saw..boy oh boy how could you be stupid enough to do something like that:rolleyes:
That completely ruins the point of the pickup truck and it probably makes visibility out the front completely blind. And lastly, it don't look good:nono::snicker:

Instead of removing your body molding, look at it like I do, my tire gel never gets to my paint with the molding, it gets caught inside it, since I keep mine detailed. I've seen people get frame height tickets here, fix it tickets, and apparently there's such a thing here as "DMV inspection" where you have to have it legal completely, and it be almost fully stock. As for the squat, my 01 leans back some, which it's partially because I'm too cheap to buy the camber bolts to fix the tire wear being bad wrong, and it was eating CV axles due to being lowered too much in the front, and putting it back stock based upon the measurements of two cars fixed both issues, plus it rides better now, I prefer the firmer ride like my 99 had.
