im sure you guys have seen this mod before, but since i did it yet again to another vehicle i thought i'd post it up.
its sort of free, you need about 20 minutes, some patience and a drill with a 3/8" paddle bit. Paddle bits work better because the sharp point grabs a lot easier than a drill bit will. Don't forget to vacuum out all the plastic shavings! Drill carefully and let the drill do the work, do not push or you may break the plastic, and you run the risk of pushing beyond the box and hitting something important...like a radiator hose or your head lights or your coolant reservoir.
I've done this on my ranger, explorer and my F150's air boxes. works really well.
--------ONLY DRILL THE BOTTOM OF THE BOX DRILLING THE TOP WILL ALLOW UN FILTERED AIR INTO THE ENGINE---------
