Anyone else think the gloss black trim on the tailgate where the EXPLORER is embossed into it is to plain and hard to read? I found a company that makes vinyl letter inlays for the 20+ explorers, you pick the color and it was less than 20 bucks, actually $18.35 with tax. They also make a set for the lower door trim lettering.

I have a XLT so my trim is chrome, but I ordered the lettering for it in black, looks great, easy to install, and really pops. I also ordered the lettering for the lower door trim in white since my explorer is white. Really looks great, however the lower door trim was not easy to install.

Well the liftgate inlay stickers came in a couple of days ago, I finally got around to installing them today. The color is a close match to atlas blue. Not bad for 17 bucks

This looks great! Are they raised at all/rigid or are they simply vinyl decals?

951 is pretty solid and once it’s fully cured will hold up to any typical automotive environment, including pressure washing.

They are just simple vinyl decals, what do you expect for 17 dollars.

I understand your question. I have a 2015 Explorer with raised letters. I'm trying to find American Flag letters that can be applied.

I like the raised letters on the back of my 25 Active. I was a bit envious of my son's new ST with the raised letters on the front of the hood til I realized that will catch a whole lotta insects on road trips and be difficult to keep clean. Gotta be careful what I wish for, I may get it! ;-)
That vinyl inlay lettering does look excellent! I used a product like that on the tailgate of my 22 Maverick.
