Any pro tips on finding a replacement bracket / clevis that the rear window struts attach to? Mine was completely missing when I got my 1997 Mountaineer, and I would like to be able to use the back glass again without having to hold it up with my head while I load & unload. Photos below. I've tried a pick & pull, but these things are typically super rusted and when I go to remove one, it just spins. If I get a good enough grip on the clevis, I can put enough force into it to break off my T-30 bit, which obviously does me no good. Maybe this is a left hand thread for some reason and I am just tightening them down when I try to remove??

I am tempted to just buy a complete rear glass - are '96 - '01 all the same? I know they went to the pushbutton for the glass in maybe '98 / '99.

Thanks!

Andrew

I just took this off my spare junkyard hatch glass they fits my 96. I just took a long screwdriver, put it’s shaft between the arms, and rotated it counter-clockwise. Passenger side was done the same, so both are loose. PM me if interested…

I even have one pin, but unsure if it’s the correct one. Fits like it should be there, but slightly too long 🤷🏻‍♂️

I need to get some of those c-clips. I used safety wire on my pins after my clips flew off into Narnia

Those pins are long on my Mounty, just like in your picture.
