Hi everyone,
I'm having a really frustrating issue with my 2021 Ford Explorer ST. It's my favorite car ever owned, but super frustrated over this, and worried about mold too.

I'm getting a significant amount of water leaking into both the front and back passenger floor mats, especially after heavy rainstorms. I've cleaned out the sunroof drain and no difference.

You can tell from one of the attached images it's seems to be coming in from the area of where the passengers right foot would be, near the front.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with their 2021Ford Explorer ST? If so, any advice/suggestions or how you fixed it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Check this post:

Some folks have found that the drain tube has become disconnected, others have had it clogged.

As Rick mentioned, the usual cause of water in the footwell is blocked moon/sunroof drains. If you've cleaned the drains then it likely isn't a blockage. Try running water over the glass panel and check if you can see the water draining under the vehicle. There a post where a member mentioned water coming onto the passenger side floor due to something regarding debris blocking a vent or something. I believe it was in the engine compartment but I haven't had any luck in finding that thread/post.

Check the outside drains for the air intake in front of the windshield. If they get blocked, water can enter via HVAC system. You can also see if the heater core drain is blocked though this is more likely to be an issue with AC condensation rather than rain.

Well I think we found the issue, not sure how that hose came out. Appears to be A/C drain hose. Does that explain why there would be more water on the floor during rain storms?

It could if the A/C is running to help dehumidify the cabin. One way to find out is to connect the tubing and wait for another rainfall. ;)

The more humid the ambient air is, the more moisture the A/C system removes from the air.

Threre are another three possible reasons for having a water under the floor matts: water on right hand side -check drain condition from air con (not blocked); check roof glass condition (perfectly sealed); check drains not blocked from the roof window

Had the same problem for over 2 years now. Think I finally found the issue.

Take the trim loose on top of the vehicle. Start at the front, it should unsnap easily. There is one holder near the front of the vehicle. It has a bolt on top and 2 nuts under the headliner.

I ran a hose on top of the vehicle and noticed water in the general area of the holder. Pulled the door weather strip, gently pulled the headliner down and had water dripping. Put my finger on one of the holder nuts and it was wet.

Pulled both nuts and the bolt, dried the holder and roof where it mounts. Used permatex around each of the studs and the holder where the bolt goes through.

Reinstalled everything, took it to the car wash and so far so good.

BTW, drain tubes open and clear as well as the bladder behind the wheel well.
