Did I get a dud transmission?

Just note. The adapter fitting you need, is also used at the other end, at the radiator. You take look at those fittings. The driver side of the radiator. I don't know if they are the same fitting on the tranny., but the tube ends are the same. They are probably the same. They screw into the cooler, which is inside the radiator.
I replaced the radiator and I still have the old one. Could I get the fittings off of the old radiator?

You could, on the radiator there is a metal heat exchanger inside the tank (2 two connections, fittings) top and bottom with O-rings, which you don't need.
Give it a try, see if it thread to the tranny by hand. I dont know how the tube flare fitting threaded in. Only too say the thread pitch might be the same.
You Can match up the threads.

Wrong size and thread pitch on the tranny side but it gives me a better idea of what I'm looking for. Thanks for your help 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Pick n pull junk yard is a sure thing…if you have one nearby

Anyone have any idea of how tightly they should be torqued on??

I don't know what tightness is too tight, but you have to reseal the steel threads (maybe with teflon tape, small amount)
and torque them down very carefully. I didn't know if they have to sit flush on the tranny housing.
These are the only specs i found, maybe similar to the adaptors?

Is there any space for a torque wrench?

1. Start adapter fitting by hand.
2. Once the adapter fitting is seated. You can use a socket with a extension.
3. The tube flare nut. You need to use a crows foot with a extension.
3. You need too go thru the wheel well area, too access the these fittings.
