    2017 Explorer XLT 3.5 L V6 FWD (6F55 transmission).

V6 transmission are bulletproof. Not the smoothest but they are largely problem free.

    Steering moving on highway.

Could be alignment or other suspension parts. Best to have mechanic check it out. At 180k you are needing a refresh on all suspension parts if not done already. Dropping 2k into a car with 180k is a decision you need to make. Trust me I am done dropping money into my 2011 with 149k.

    Buy or not to buy?

Pass. Mileage for 2 years old is not sketchy. Its probably a lease car. No reason to accept a sketchy carfax for what you will pay like some dough for.... unless its like $20k.

P2A01 Oxygen Sensor - Is this common?

Had o2 sensor last go in 05 Mustang 4.0L.... rare to go. If you don't have other issues then likely a fluke. These cars dont have gasket issues. Always can have pressure test done if you want. Pinging or oil in coolant (or vice versa) is a problem. I would fix it and not worry.

2016 Limited AC Compressor Won't Engage Except When Jumped

Don't add freon unless you have a gauge. It can make things worse.

Water pump failure leads to dead engine

Had a bunch of Chicago made P2 based Ford between my parents and I (7 since 2005). Every one of them had corrosion on the hood. I used to use Klasse and now CarPro UK 3.0. Cleaned up the door earlier this year with wire wheel (bare metal which had PoR15 applied). You are lucky!!!

Solved Going to replace engine/trans/torque mounts

My wife and kids keep me busy. I don't have extra time like I used to have. I might think about replacing it. Do you use an impact? Cordless or corded/air?

Solved Going to replace engine/trans/torque mounts

I noticed better Park to Drive with the 2 mounts. Didn't replace trans mounts on mine and don't plan to spend any more money on a 150k car.

Solved Going to replace engine/trans/torque mounts

How many miles? You should see the torque strut on a ford 500. 300 dollar part that could be fixed with a $10 volvo part or even rumors of a hockey puck.

Water pump failure leads to dead engine

I agree. Don't spend 2k to 3k on something that may not happen. I just dumped the last 1k into my 2011. No more big bucks for my car. Mine is rusty in those places but did use wire wheel and POR 15 to clean it up. I guarantee your hood has corrosion but that can be masked by a 60 dollar bug guard.

Thinking the rear brakes not braking properly on my 2014 PIU

Find a good independent mechanic. Without driving it, hard to guess.

    Routine maintenance during this Pandemic

Low risk of transmission (no pun). I wouldn't worry. ADAM'S polishes has a microban product, fyi if you want to wipe down. Let it sit in the sun for an hour or two after its done. Will kill anything if hot enough

    Trans failed twice

No lemon law, car has 100k on it. Trade it in with the computer (oasis) with that record needing a new trans and you dont disclose it, you risk trouble. I think you are SOL

    Battery Recommendation?

Got 5 years out of my Motorcraft battery. Suggest spraying the red terminal grease on them to reduce corrosion. These cars are not hard on batteries.

Centric are I'd go with Motorcraft or Akebano for pads. Don't settle for something less.

    2011 power seat problem

I have a base model, no power recline. My rear tilt stopped working. Motor died. Had a new used track out on. Yours might be the switch if its the recline. I'm no expert on electrical matters.
