Bought my vehicle used with 75k miles, and now had 92k miles. Have check engine light with p2a01, need to replace oxygen sensor. Previous owner sold me a car with hidden problems, and has a clean title. I am reading that cylinder head or leaking gasket could cause this. I am curious if it's common for o2 censor to go bad, and is it possible to make a bad engine to run for 1 or 2 years?

Had o2 sensor last go in 05 Mustang 4.0L.... rare to go. If you don't have other issues then likely a fluke. These cars dont have gasket issues.

Always can have pressure test done if you want. Pinging or oil in coolant (or vice versa) is a problem. I would fix it and not worry.
