    Overhead Console

That was easy! I just went through the opposite- map lights no worky, yep broken ribbon. Just love the easy fixes Or did the truck fix itself knowing it's owner was reading, and about to get serious?

Another 1998 Explorer Sport V8 Project. . .Completed!

Temptation of the open road! While that Valiant was at a disadvantage to your Sport in frontal area, sidewinds were never much of a thought. Ah yes, nitrous, Sometime I will message you the Mr. Toad's Wild Ride story I got taken on as a kid. On that day I became hooked.........on speed, not N2O.

Another 1998 Explorer Sport V8 Project. . .Completed!

Just watched again, this time noticed the shorts and bare feet/ flip flops, thinking you need a gift card for some Simpson Safety Products! I heavily modified my first car starting in 1980,- a 62 Valiant, nobody heard of a hot 6 cyl, and couldn't believe how it skipped from stoplight to...

    Just Bought - Couple questions

here is a good starting point https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/60381/10002/-1 The plate style coolers are more durable, cheap insurance for about $10. The preferred method is mounting it (fabed or kit), but strapping it is ok. Consider pulling the radiator, flush by running a garden hose from...

    Just Bought - Couple questions

Welcome to the forum, that is a great truck to start on! I traded in my 94 XLT for the Sporty, and like Gmctyphoon, wish I just kept it around. There is a wealth of information here, spend a few hours searching, getting to know how to find. You've already got responses from guys who really know...

At my wits end with this issue

Got it! The advice for keeping it above 1/2 during the winter surely doesn't apply to your area. We are usually in Hawaii a couple times a year, but covid. Damn shame, it'd be nice to meet up and pick @ you rig from a couple angles

At my wits end with this issue

Following You have been given sound advice. Enough to keep you busy for a while. Further down that list should be not to let the fuel level get low like that. Maybe just coincidence, but my equipment never sees south of 1/4,(1/2 during winter months) even if that means carrying Jerry cans, and...

1996 Explorer XLT: Rear Frame "issues"

That is a great (inexpensive)way to extend her life. Unfortunately Mr Discusfish is going to need a lot of plate, and a couple of drill bits.... Really would like to see him hold on to the old girl!

Am I getting ripped off by dealer?

Absolutely agree w/ J_C. If the vehicle is driveable, take it home, make an appointment, and then a non obvious punch or chisel mark. I have a friend with more $ than patience, who years ago had a sweet small block Corvette , and blew the head gasket, so drove it straight to the closest shop...

Offroad / All terrain wheels and tires

Got it. When I say short side walls, am meaning less area exposed. Your drive is natural rock, with crushed brought in? I was thinking large and sharp. One thing is for sure, if it works stick with it. I don't like change, however in my case it worked out(after some trials). Me thinks our...

Offroad / All terrain wheels and tires

The A/T3W is 10 ply. Having sold the Trails, cannot say for sure. I was under the impression it is just a tread difference. Over the shoulder rib designs will protect from the sharp rocks, keeping that sidewall short helps!- as you know. This thread has me thinking buy the Trails again, mount...

Offroad / All terrain wheels and tires

Adam's option is worth a thought. I always had BFG's on the '94, but come replacement time on the '05, a friend turned me on to the Falkens. All around happier w/ the Trails, but needed to go more aggressive due to my hill, so sold em off, and went to A/T3W. Bingo. The tire has held up to every...

What do you like best about your explorer?

I traded in a 94 XLT on the Sport Trac-- should have just kept it in the garage, great truck, but @ 180,000 w/ only a battery and maintenance, figured I was coming out ahead. The 05 Sporty has also been a great truck, only a battery & the tranny going out@ 90k, the odometer is now @ 100k. We...

    Dog Hair Mitigation

To the above advice, I would add using the air compressor to help loosen existing hair in your interior, then a lint roller. That helped me get 99% out, and a tweezer the rest! No way I'm leaving my German Shedders behind! The latest--Klaus Von Birenwein K9
