I have a 2001 Explorer Sport 2 door and the temp/compass function went blank. The map lights and moon roof functions work. I have already read the fix to solve this problem but I took the easy way out and ordered one refurbished unit off an ebay vendor. Today I installed the unit and have the same problem. Is there something else that could cause this. You be thinking that the replacement unit I purchased is also defective and you may be right. Before I contact the vendor any suggestions would be appreciated.

Look for the classic problem

First, check fuse in "central junction box", fuse 10, 7.5A. Key needs to be "on" for power. Then, the GRY/YEL wire should have 12v+ at the plug in the roof, according to my wiring diagram.

TY I'll check the fuse.

Simple fix...

Nice job

The unit is working after I read the instructions in the owners manual.
So what you're saying is you found out how to turn it on...;)

Or did the truck fix itself knowing it's owner was reading, and about to get serious?
