Thanks, that was the route that I was thinking. What kind of staple gun did you use? I was thinking about heating up the vinyl along the top/edge to soften it up a bit.

It is the door arm rest. The other is the same on the passenger door. I did heat it up with heat gun a bit and it got a little bit softer, but didn't want to melt the vinyl or foam. I did think of securing it with screws and plate, but there's just a thin plastic frame there. Wish I knew...

As I said, I'm not all that keen on searching for the replacement parts. Looking them up on ebay, they are pretty expensive. I can get a whole explorer console at my local pull and pick for $25 if I can find a decent tan one.

I'm learning, new to the Explorer models. Although I did buy a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0 for the drive line. It worked out well in my 63 Ford Falcon Futura. Changed to aluminum intake Holley 650, the 4r70w, and narrowed the 8.8 posi to fit. Wish I had kept more parts from it.
