The IAC sounds like a logical solution. I know AutoZone sells the IAC sensor and it was around i think 35$. I live in Texas and we have AUtoZones everywhere i dunno about where your at.

Warm the tranny by driving about 10 miles. Then stop on a level surface and put the tranny through all gears. R-N-oD-D-2-1 and the put it in Park. And check the fluid level. Hope this helps. Nick

Asked ASE Mechanic I asked my best friend who is a ASE Master Tech and works for the Local Ford/Mazda Dealer here. He said what you and i both thought. Yes they will work. A MAF from any Ford OHV (Pushrod) 4.0 Liter will work. So you should be ok. Hope this Helps

Thanks for the help guys. Another thing is when i sit in Neutral(sp?) and i rev the engine to 3,000-4,000 RPM's it doesnt make that noise. But yes the sound is coming from the hood it seems not the tranny.
