    Bkennedy's SAS and Rebuild Thread

Have to wonder if the rating is for engine torque, or full torque after it's been multiplied through torque converter and gear ratios. AA told me the output shaft of my manual trans might not be able to take the total torque of the system even with the stock 4.0. Personally I would steer...

    Off to the dark side...

I have run them in our Ram\Cummins for years. I usually get 6 to 7 years out of them. I can't remember the name off hand but I have been getting them from Batteries+. I also have had good luck with Optima Yellow Tops in the performance cars and in the Pumpkin.

    2020 ST Chassis Photos

The 2 bolt system is stronger. Ford with their infinite wisdom decided that instead of addressing the problem they caused by eliminating one bolt, they would do a software patch which automatically engages the parking brake every time the vehicle is turned off. This is to keep the truck from...

    Moab 2025

It's sad to see the runs fall apart since I haven't been able to participate. Unfortunately my eyes still don't work well for "off camber situations". I have trouble with much more than the height of a step ladder these days. Anyway, if anyone is going to Moab please post up. Char and I have...

Will the 2022 or newer explorer hold up on the farm and dirt roads

Our town is predominantly dirt roads including our own road. 50,000 miles on our 2020 ST and the only issue that could be releated to the roads would be rear shocks that leaked. Thing is that many people have had an issue with the leaky rear shocks even if they have never taken their Explorer...

The swing away portion looks strong, but the bracket that holds the tire looks thin. My worry is that it would quickly fatigue and crack.

Is my Explorer no longer safe to drive? *Rust*

The body has definitely lost a lot of strength due to the rot. It won't be able to proect against impact nearly as well as it should. It's definitely repairable by welding in new steel. I would also check where the body mounts attach to the frame as that area is super important safety wise.

Sounds like something is bent, or perhaps your bushings are worn to the point that the geometry has changed quite a bit.

'02 xls 4wd. Stalled while driving

Sounds like an electrical issue. I would start with the battery and cables to ensure there is no corrosion, and that the battery is holding a charge. Autoparts stores can test batteries for free.

A/C Issues ... clicking, only heat.

The trick to get a full can into the system is to place the can in a bucket of hot tap water to raise the pressure in the can. As you know, the can gets colder and colder as you fill the system. It gets to the point where the pressure in the can is lower than what's in the system. Placing the...

    TASCA PARTS Parts Return Help

I'm sorry to hear that. When I did a search for their phone number I saw a link to their BBB page. They have an F rating because they don't respond to complaints. :( I would try the attorney generals office in the state they are located in.

2006 ford explorer with too much transmission fluid

Yes an over fill can cause seals to leak. Hate to say it, but good luck getting them to step up to fix the issue they caused. Not sure where you got the fluid capacity from, but the maximum capacity is only achieved when the torque converter is dry. If they just pulled the pan and filter...

    2020 Ford Explorer Seat Trim

The issue is that when the seat is lowered fully it puts pressure on that panel. Outside of a redesign I don't see how it can be fixed using the stock components. That's why I added the screw.

    2020 Ford Explorer Seat Trim

Just wondering if this is the side panel on the left side of the seat you are both having issues with. If so my fix was to secure it with a black trim screw which screws into the bracket behind the panel. I drilled the bracket for the screw. This has held up for about 2 years now. That side...
