OIC. The wipers are at outwipe, i.e. vertical up by a-pillar, so the linkages are lined up and locked. As i get into the cowl, I will nudge the linkage past lock-up and see if I can't do what you suggest. thanks for the clarification.

yeah, tried that. Keyed off/on with MFS off and wipers did not reset to park; stayed stuck at outwipe. In my situation, I used the "mist" function to wipe some light fluffy snow off the glass, and it wiped to outwipe and stopped. if it was the switch, I would expect it to finish the cycle...

wow, same thing happened this morning to my 2001 Sport Trac. I checked the fuse and it was OK. Next, I will check the relays, then motor, then linkages. Hopefully, I will learn something and let you know... Anyone else out there with experience?

same thing happened to me my 01 had the same thing happen. Door felt funny and next thing I know, it wont stay closed. I ended up taking the wheel liner out (a bunch of screws along the wheel lip and christmas trees to the frame hold it on). Then a couple more screws on the fuel filler...

Anyone done a CNG conversion/add-on for your ST? I hear it's a fairly easy conversion. We have many filling stations in the Detroit area, so I'm thinking it'd be a easy (but a bit pricey) way to improve my cost/mile.. Any opinions, experience, or "don't do its" out there?

Provokr, did you happen to notice if your turn signal worked if your headlight/parking lights were off? I have the exact same issue, so can you be more specific on the location of the connector and wire you fixed?

Did a quick search and didn't find anything obvious... The Right turn signal on my '01 ST stopped working, but get this, only when the parking and/or headlamps are on. The emergency flasher also only lights the LH turn signals with lights on. With lights off, both turn and flashers work...

The bolts are self tapping. Just start them straight. You can tap the holes, but it's not necessary.

My 01 56K 4x4 255-70R16 with stock tonneau, running boards, skid plates and added K&N and hitch gets a combined 17 ~ 20 mpg. I would guess 70 to 80 percent highway miles. I've also been driving like a granny, slow accelerations, lots of coasting down and keeping it under 75 on the freeways...

On my 97 Ranger and 01 ST (as well as 99 F150) the compressor runs on all settings except for FLOOR ONLY, and HEAD ONLY. Defrost, Defrost/Heat, Head/Floor, AC and MAX AC all run the compressor for varying durations/frequencies.
