Steering Box Rebuild or new one???

I have 200,000 on the original steering box out of my '91 XLT. When I had my truck aligned the shop stated that the box was real sloppy and recommended getting it rebuilt or replaced. Sitting on jack stands I can grab the front tires and move them quite a bit. I do have a lot of accessive...

Left Frame Rail The valve is located on the left frame rail above the rear axle. The 91 to 92's had RWABS while the 93 up has 4-wheel ABS. Hope it helps.

    On-Board Air Compressor???

Almost there!! I'm almost there. I ran out of money on this paycheck. I will have it done probably by the end of this month. I am documenting everything with photos and I will be trying to find a way to write up a full tutorial on the subject. A word of caution though, I am only doing this for...

    Rear Sway Bar Removal???

That's what I figured. I'm removing mine because the shocks hit the sway bar mount and cause a clunking sound that I'm not too fond of. Thanks for the help!

    Rear Sway Bar Removal???

I was just wondering how much of a difference I would feel, if any, if I removed the rear anti-sway bar? I have a 5.5" lift. Thanks.

Help please - Rough running and gas smell problem

Fuel Pressure Regulator Your fuel pressure regulator is bad. It's sending too much fuel to the injectors. I'm not too familiar with the 302 fuel injected motor, but it has a regulator. If it goes long enough the O2 sensor will go bad too. Go to advance auto and get a new regulator. Good luck!

    Snapped Brake Line!!!

I need help. I installed James Duff 15" extended radius arems on my 91 X. I found out the hard way that when I turn my tires all the way to the left or right my Skyjacker extended brake lines bind with the Rancho shocks. Luckily, I was making a turn in my circle at home and then I had NO BRAKES...

    On-Board Air Compressor???

Yep. I found the thread by doing a search. The post was started by a guy named THK. I also found the pictures. The thread never got off the ground. He has also requested that nobody be given his e-mail address so I e-mailed the moderator to see if he can get ahold of him. It would be really...

    On-Board Air Compressor???

I was just wondering if anyone has installed an on-board air compressor to inflate your tires and run air tools. Specifically, I am looking at the York A/C compressors off of '80's Volvos and Jeeps. I have seen several Jeep owners use this compressor next to their AC unit with modified brackets...

    Steering wheel allignment

NO You cannot realign the steering wheel. The alignment shop isn't reputable. They should have known they needed to readjust the tie rods. The steering wheel has a key hole that will only allow it to go on one way. Your tie rods are adjusted too far to one side or the other. Center your tires...

    Vibration=Tire blow outs

91 to 94 are included too! The 91 to 94 explorer is also included in the investigation. The majority of Explorers that were shown on CNN that turned over were of the 91 to 94 body style. I think I saw maybe one post 94 style. Do a search for this. I have a 91 with the same vibration. This was...

    Front wheel bearings

Mac or Snap-on tools Go down to your local dealership or auto mechanic shop and find out when the guy selling MAC tools or SNAP-ON tools comes around. He has the right socket. You cannot buy it at the regular autoparts store. I got mine when I saw the MAC truck sitting out front. I walked in...

Does higher Octane (89, 93, or 94) give better MPG?

run 87 89 Engines are designed with different compressions ratios which do better on regular octane gas. Usually, truck engines are 9.5 compression ration or somewhere around there. Most engines in the is range run better with regular octane gas. Using higher octane gas will actually foul up...

    Front coil spring retainer?

Factory, actually I have a ,91 explorer that doesn't have the retainer but all of the explorers that are around '93 and 94 have them from the factory. I'm not sure about the 92's. All Full size ford trucks have them too. It's just protection just in case. You can go get them from ford or try an...
