    when you attached the string to the new cable, did you wrap with electrical tape and try to center the string on the cable. Starting at the back and wrapping the electrical tape forward. also sometimes it helps if you have another person holding tension as you pull it thru

    Dust cover for tranny

    I was under my explorer and looking, it seem I have a leak either from the torque converter or the front seal. I didnt see a dust cover on the tranny. Am I missing something? Or do I basically have to pull the tranny to check it? Thanks

    I say fix it...then look for a long block to build what you want...saying that after i just did the head gaskets on my 95 corvette...now that that is done i am working on my explorer...priorities ya know

    there are always special tools...so i am not worried about that.....just never done any tranny work myself

    the funny thing is it would still be under warranty if the owner of the shop hadnt commited suicide.....so since i have the time and its not a daily driver( i have 2 other vehiles to drive), i am planning on diving into the tranny myself if it needs it. should be a great learning expierence:D
