    Tow hooks rear

The only problem with the hitch is that it is hanging down. I don't hit the back bumper now (well hardly ever) and although you are right it would be a great place to mount hooks to I try to keep things as high a possible. Thanks for your input. Kevin L www.funinbc.com

is a 6000lb winch good enough?

    I have e an 8000 Warren and I wish I had a 9000. When I get stuck I do a good job. If you do a lot of wheeling I would don't get anything under a 8000

Hi Rick well I think I am up to about 20 post now Dead Link Removed I put the dual friction Center force and I have already had it rebuilt. I guess I need 4:56 or the transfer case reduction. I did the compresion check, all ok. The clutch was checked. I replaced the salve cyclinder and...

    Tow hooks rear

I have my tow hooks to close to the shackles and they are or were limiting my travel. I was going to weld a crossmember steel plate on the end of the frame from side to side to strengthen for the mount. Has anyone found a better place to mount? Kevin Loughran www.funinbc.com

    4:10 or 4:56

GO 4:56 gears, I wish I did. I have 33" tires with 4:10's and I am just under stock grearing. With 4:56 you will be better off. Now I will have to checkout the Advance Adaptor's transfer case reduction. Dead Link Removed Kevin Loughran www.funinbc.com

    Neutral sensing switch?

I had some work done on my 92 manual tranny last week and they said that when I had warranty work done about 5 years ago they crushed the wire for the neutral sensing switch when they put it back together. Now, I have been running without a problem so far and this weekend I fixed the wire with...

    Loss of compression? rolls backwards

Thanks Bert for your reply! I replaced a Center Force clutch back in September and last weekend had some trans. work done. At that time I asked them to check the clutch and they said everything was fine. I have noticed the rear diff has some play in it. I have ARB's. Does anyone have play in...

    Loss of compression? rolls backwards

The first thing I noticed was that when I parked on a 15 dregree hill, park break off and the manual Trans in first gear, the truck rolls backwards. I don't know if this is related but in first gear in rush hour traffic the truck bucks hard. If I don't depress the clutch or give it a bit of...

    Ball joints

I just replaced the upper and lower ball joints last weekend. Fun fun fun ! Yet another common problem with the TTB. You said power steering fluid? How did that get in there? Well if you do it yourself take my advice and have them pressed in by a shop. It only cost me $20.00 and saved me...

    Transmission Leak

I have a 92 Explorer and it is in the shop this morning for the same thing. There are three rubber plugs at the top of the transmission that leak. This is a common problem and you should have these replaces with metal ones ( recommended). If you are lucky this is all that is wrong. With mine...
