16 Explorer XLT Push Button Start Problems!!

This one is your issue: PCM DTC P1921 - Transmission Range Signal Transmission range also known as neutral safety switch is what tells your engine computer what gear you are in. The car will only start in park or neutral and if the signal isn't reading one of those two then your vehicle will...

I don't recall having an issue when I attached a trailer. Maybe I just turned it off last time.

    DAYTIME BRIGHT LEDS

Yep. Brightness is measured in lumens and the max lumens for a given wattage is like 4300-4500K. Anything below or above starts to loose lumens even if your eyes think they look "brighter".

    BCM Programming - Trailer Lights

Im thinking the same thing on the hazards. The signal delay is probably just a few milliseconds so it shouldn't affect the flash timing. Signal would just be passed through. I don't think it would act like a filter (smoothing) if that is what you are thinking. Should be able to get a connector...

    BCM Programming - Trailer Lights

I got curious on how this works and I figured it out. It's a logic based circuit. LT output = LT input AND NOT RT input RT output = RT input AND NOT LT input Brake output=LT input AND RT input

List of Useful Threads 3.5L Water pump replacement - Gotchya's

Be nice to know what the hell is going on with the concentric vs single gaskets. Seems like the 11-12 Explorers had two orings, then during 2012 production they switch to a single piece oring. Then there was another change (unknown) for the 2016+ models.

    Keyless entry panel blinks constantly

Fuse 21 is for the power to the keypad microprocessor, fuse 18 powers the illumination but feeds other critical circuits. Pulling fuse 21 may work because the processor sends the signal back to the BCM to turn on the illumination. If pulling fuse 21 stops the issue then it means there is...

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

Yeah that's it but I don't suggest just throwing parts at it without using a scanner like Forscan to diagnose the issue. What does the instrument cluster say the outside temperature is? Is it showing correctly?

    Moonroof doesn’t work

Post a picture of the circuit board. You may bring it back by cleaning corrosion with isopropyl alchohol and tooth brush and letting it dry. Also if you have water damage make sure to clean out the sunroof drain lines as they could have clogged and caused the initial issue. You can also coat...

    Auto liftgate troubles

Scan the vehicle again and see if there are errors listed under the LTM. If you don't see any errors go to "tests" and run the "ON Demand Selft test" for the LTM (have liftgate closed when starting this). See if you get codes B236A, B2903, or B2940. I'm certain. The 2016 order guide shows on...

Rear Wheel Camber After Bearing Replacement...

If the knuckle was unbolted from the lower strut then it probably did affect alignment. If only the lower ball joint was unbolted then it won't affect it. Service manual states that the lower strut bolts need to be marked where the indexes are prior to removal, this to me indicates it is...

    Auto liftgate troubles

Where the control unit is (behind the quarter panel) there is a speaker/buzzer attached to the unit and has a 2 wire connector going to it. These two wires jump right over to the main unit. Could have unplugged it and never plugged it back in.

2017 Explorer AC blows cold then warm

What have they confirmed? When you say Limited with Ecoboost do you mean the 4 cyl one? IIRC this motor uses a variable displacement compressor so not only does it have a clutch to engine the ac compressor pulley but it has a variable solenoid that changes the compression. They need to look at...

Intermittent start issue and no power to a/c clutch

These system are a little bit smarter than the cars of a couple of decades ago. Years ago you had a low pressure and cycling switch ran inline to the ac demand circuit. Computer really didn't have much control. Now it uses an actual sensor on the lines and evap temp sensor to make a calculation...

    Moonroof doesn’t work

You also need voltage at the red/white wire as well (ignition trigger). Here are the schematics for that circuit. C912 is the connect that attaches to the overhead console and C921 should face toward the rear of the vehicle in the overhead console pocket of the headliner...

    Moonroof doesn’t work

Unfortunately there isn't a sunroof module to access via the network, so no On-Demand Self Test isn't available. When you say you tested the plus/minus of the motor are you saying you saw voltage? Does the polarity reverse when the switch is reversed?

    Right Turn Signal not working

The BCM controls internal current sensing transistors. After a set number of faults they a permanently disabled and require a BCM replacement. IF this is the case though they will set an internal code. May want to invest in an obd2 adapter (Obdlink MX) and an Android tablet and run Forscan. I...

    Right Turn Signal not working

It's possible you have a spread terminal at the connector on the BCM that leads to the RR light. You are looking at the brown/white wire on connector 2280C? Do a wiggle test. Put the connector back on, keep turn signal turned on, and try wiggling the terminal in and out, side to side. If it...

    Right Turn Signal not working

Definitely had the HID headlights from factory. I see the front park sensors for the parallel park assist which was only available on the Limited 302A package (303a if you had the 2.0 EB). These packages also had HID. If the headlights were swapped then pins had to be changed on the headlight...

    Replacing LF drive shaft

Is it making a click click click sound when turning (normal sound for bad shaft) or are you getting a metallic sound when moving from a stop or going into reverse (TSB on that one), actually that TSB covers clicking while turning as well. Here is the issue:

    Dirver's Power Seat Tilt Issue

Do you have memory seats? (Numbers 1,2,3 next to the unlock, lock button on the door) If you don't have memory then you have one of two possible issues. The switch is bad (or not making good contact inside) or the wiring from the switch to the motor is bad. Motor wouldn't be bad as it is the...

fan speed fluctuates on 2015 ford explorer air conditioning

Could you be confusing this with the recirc door opening and closing? When it opens to fresh air flow will decrease. I've noticed that I have no control over this even when switching from Auto to manual. The only way I gain 100% control is to switch to Max A/C from Auto and then hit the recir...
