OK guys...I now have checked the hubs by rotating my axle shaft...it is locked in...when I disengage 4x4 it rotates freely..when I put it back in...the axle shaft wil only give a bit, then it locks in. My 4wd is engaging...however it is not working...Any ideas?

Is there any way to check auto hubs to see if there is a probelm? My 4WD is engaging...I can hear it, plus when I put it in 4L it is obvious that it has engaged, however it is not in 4wd. I posted about it a few days ago and got great feedback leading me to my auto hubs. My question is..Is...

You can shift on the fly into 4H....up to 55mph or so...to shift into 4 low, vehicle must be stopped, in nuetral...push 4H button first, then 4L On a side note....you may want to test your 4WD before getting inot any snowstorms.

Do they need to be replaced?

Hey guys...I have a 4x4 problem. I push the 4x4 button on the dash....it lights...but is is not going into 4 wheel drive. I got it stuck coming into my driveway tonight in about 2 inches of snow. The back end kept sliding to the left...any ideas??

Yeah...oil is clean...looks as it should...could it possibly be something as simple as my thermostat?

Hey guys....The guy I bought the explorer from said the radiator was bad...he said he kept putting water in it...I blead the radiator and put antifreeze in it..I ran it for about an hour...didn't seem to be running hot, antifreeeze remained full...Are there any other things I should/could look...
