I probably will, but I was able to clean most of the carbon out when I did the valve seals. I carb cleaned the heck out of the intake valves directly thru the intake port on the head.- SuperGordo

Just went out and moved the EX. Havent run it since before noon today. It started right up. Didn’t stall. Just a hint of a change in rpm and it settled down to idle.- SuperGordo

It runs and drives really well. Just this starting issue is the only hiccup currently. I'll figure it out one way or the other. But it doesn't hurt to ask the all of you guys since you've all worked on these things.- SuperGordo

I installed a brand new grommet and Motorcraft PCV. Also keep in mind that I touched dam near everything on this EX. All the hoses are new. Repaired a bunch of vacuum hoses. Almost no stones unturned.- SuperGordo

The alignment turned out good. Drives really nice. Still had the stalling issue this morning when it was cold out. So that is interesting. Once it warms up it's totally normal. I wonder if the vacuum reserviour is bad.- SuperGordo

The only symptom I had was when it was cold out that when I started it it would stall. Then I'd start it again, it would stall. Then I'd start it and it would rev up rather high. Then it would struggle between close to stalling and high until it warmed up enough. Literally as soon as the booster...- SuperGordo

I took the EX out on the first official drive today. Took it a few miles to put fuel into it. Keep in mind that It really needs a wheel alignment, but it drove pretty well. But I believe that I have discovered the vacuum leak that is causing the strange idle. The brake booster is definitely bad...- SuperGordo

I received an email from Ford Motor Company at 1:51am stating that my Explorer has been built and is going thru final checks and should be at my dealer between Feb 27th and March 5th. So that is nice to hear. However the Order tracker hasn't updated and still says May 24th. The countdown begins...- SuperGordo

One of the other things I've been considering is pulling the lock cylinders from the doors and rear hatch and having them key matched to the ignition lock cylinder. Would be about $110. Then I could install the front door panels and the armrests I got from Kidd7 and move on. The rear hatch lock...- SuperGordo

I cleaned up the cups with some 80grit sandpaper then blasted it with brake cleaner. I used Duralast Gold ball joints from Autozone.- SuperGordo

The second round of upkeep will include, 1) Rear differential service, including new axle seals and bearings, just because 253K. 2) Transmission service and Jmod 3) Bilstein shocks including the rear anti wrap shock. 4) Decent modern Stereo. 5) Drivers door hinge pins and bronze bushings.
