all i do at this point is undo the upper plenum nuts and start lifting the plenum off. Then, you can work the egr tube out. next time, take dipstick off, and only loosen the two egr bolts. then pull the plenum off. This seems to work really well for me. The egr tubes a pain, at best.

Maybe use a 12v to 120v converter so your not limited to the length of the extension cord in how far you can drive. At least for proof of concept before you go gas.

That's great mileage. I'm still on factory sized rubber (235 75R 15's) and no lift. Must be the 75mph to work every day and the colder weather hurting me now. These OHV's can obviously still do pretty good for mileage and power with some help.

Well, I had to do mine twice Xeek. Maybe you will want to do it again next spring. It took me about 12 hours labour. Not too bad, really. Costs still added up though. Gaskets, valves, machine shop, fluids..... There really are no shortcuts.

So, I did a compression test on a couple of cylinders. Dissapointing at best. No appreciable increase. 150 is still the standard. My work fixed the two low cylinders, but I was hoping that shaving the heads would show an increase in static compression.

I think I'll pop a plug this weekend and at least compression test one cylinder. Mileage is way better already. Too soon to tell. Also, the computer has some learning to do. First tank after having my battery pulled is always crappy. No engine misfire codes anymore. Idle is smooth...

Hmm, The valve is more towards the fire wall. Doesn't sound like that is. It could still be the heater line where it plugs in to the lower intake manifold though.

Check the heater core lines. I also believe there is a valve if you follow the heater core lines. Valve tends to leak, and then blow wide open. I havn't had this issue myself yet.
