Here in Phoenix they are easy to find. I see awd Aerostar vans in the yards too. Might be worth a trip.- Josh P

Ford Ranger with a clutch problem.
I used hydraulic line with AN fittings on each end. You can buy the new and old style ends that fit the master and slave cylinder. I came up with this idea when I did a T5 swap in a 4.0 aerostar. As far as a beefier part, it would allow you to you a good aftermarket unit.- Josh P

Ford Ranger with a clutch problem.
I found I like the 05+ mustang slave cylinder with the M5OD. The only way I was able to bleed my clutch was pulling the clutch master cylinder apart so it could fill up with fluid then put it back together.- Josh P

1991 Chinook Aerostar. I'm looking for help with engine parts.
Today I found what I believe to be this aerostar for sale on craigslist. I'd buy it at that price but I have way too many projects now. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/cto/5424278833.html- Josh P

New to Explorer
I'd rather deal with the sohc issues than the weak ass transmissions behind it. I want to put a sohc in my 86 merkur xr4ti. To the OP, find the nicest explorer for the price you want to pay and expect it to need some work, most 20 year old vehicles do.- Josh P

This is why i wont own a jeep.
I own a jeep in the fleet of fords I have. I like the inline 6, 18 years trouble free is pretty good for any vehicle. It does have a ford part on it though, a fan hub off a 98 ranger 4.0 with a chevy S10 11 blade fan. The E fan on a 120 degree day couldn't cool enough sitting in traffic. I don't...- Josh P

Ten year ode to explorer
The 5.7 ram I drive at work had the very common lifter and cam failure before 85k miles. 10 days after that was fixed the transmission failed, transfer case exploded. The front drive shaft made a mess of the floor when it entered the cab. All the other rams in the fleet are diesel and had no...- Josh P

2002 XLT 4.0 4WD 4D - Part out or salvage or ?
Depends on what your time is worth to you. $300 to a yard, probably get $500 on craigslist as it sits or strip it for every last dime you could get out of it playing lets make a deal.- Josh P

2.9 to 4.0 swap
You can Swap the engine bay harness and do some re-pinning to make your gauges work. Get a EVTM for your truck and one for the donor, that will have all the wiring diagrams you need. They are cheap on ebay.- Josh P

Transmission Problem???
If it is 2 wheel drive a used junk yard unit out of a V6 mustang 98-01 or so would be an alternative to having your transmission rebuilt. Most yards offer a decent warranty on the parts.- Josh P

CAI idle issue
On my van I used the stock tube with a cone filter on the end of it. My filter box was cracked so it was a cheap fix that gained 1 mpg.- Josh P

My new 347
The 302 is a non interference engine and you checked ptv clearance many pages back when the motor first went together. As for the next failure, either the block tries to divorce itself down the lifter valley or you put a window in the side of the block.- Josh P

Push Button Ignition
A freightliner FLD or classic has push button start, it uses 2 relays. You would only need the smaller relay. A truck salvage yard will have what you need cheap.- Josh P

Is it 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive? I don't see that info listed. 2 wheel drive is a $10 bearing and 4 wheel drive is $110 hub assembly.- Josh P

A better engine for a 2003?
As stated change the axle ratio and a taller tire can gain you some better fuel economy. A manual transmission swap could gain you a small increase in fuel economy, it did on my van.- Josh P

Ethanol Damage
I was working for a few months in Oklahoma city, the trip home to phoenix or out to OK city, I ran it several times with regular and E85. Each time the E85 did better by .5 to .8 mpg over the regular gas. I know my aerostar was never designed to run it but I have had positive results.- Josh P
